A museum that makes vehicle enthusiasts’ hearts race: Helmut Vötter, a keen car lover, has gathered roughly 200 exhibits from the 1950s through the 1970s at Vötter’s car Museum in Kaprun. Tractors, motorcycles, compact automobiles, and the world’s biggest convertible are among them. The majority of the cars have been meticulously repaired and now welcome you to indulge in (automotive) fantasies. Some of the exhibits of the Vintage Car Museum are even still on the road: during the Oldtimer Grand Prix on the Grossglockner, the antique cars from Vötter’s Museum demonstrate what they are made of.
Vötter’s car museum in Kaprun evokes a sense of the past.On an area of 1,400 m2, 200 historic automobiles from the 1950s to the 1970s are displayed, as well as a few fascinating current vehicles! In addition to motor vehicles, there are several very unusual showpieces, such as the Kaiser Franz Joseph carriage or an ancient gondola from Vienna’s Giant Ferris Wheel.
Helmut Vötter has developed a 1,400m2 place for the most beautiful memories in his museum: the museum showcases automobiles that shaped people’s lives from the 1950s through the 1970s.
It all began 30 years ago with a BMW Isetta, which served as the foundation for the huge collection. Following that, several automobiles in terrible condition were collected and painstakingly restored.
Today, you can see over 200 exhibits in Vötter’s Museum all year long, ranging from vehicles that your parents may have had to motorcycles, tractors, a steam engine from 1893, and daily goods like as films and furniture from bygone eras.
