Volksgarten Club

The Volksgarten Club, located in the heart of Vienna city center, is situated within a beautiful garden. The Volksgarten Club Disco has a rich history and has managed to remain a popular destination for Viennese partygoers for many years, even in the face of rapidly changing club culture.

When locals refer to “the Volksgarten,” they are typically not referring to the park itself, but rather to a disco. Not just any disco, but one of the best establishments in the city that has remained a popular destination for decades. The Volksgarten Club Disco has a rich history dating back to 1822. It was originally constructed by Peter Nobile as a hall of columns when the Volksgarten was built. Following the conclusion of the Second World War, architect Oswald Haerdtl undertook the transformation of the Volksgarten into a highly sought-after dance café.

The Wintergarten conservatory clearly showcases Haerdtl’s distinctive 1950s design, which adds a unique charm to the disco. The Wintergarten is the perfect spot for those in need of a quick break from the dance floor. It features a palm bed, original furniture from the Fifties, and old chandeliers, creating a charming atmosphere. The Wintergarten offers a visual contrast to the disco’s illuminated perforated sheets and the entrance area, which were added in a more recent remodeling.

The Volksgarten now offers a wide range of party nights, both outdoors and indoors, featuring internationally renowned DJs. The music includes a mix of house, disco, and popular party hits.
