Villacher Alpenstraße

The Villach Alpine Road is 16.5 kilometers long, includes seven hairpin curves, reaches 1,200 meters in height, and provides the most breathtaking vistas and unique natural experiences.The all-year-round mountain route is one of five premium alpine roads in Austria, each of which is worth at least one visit! You begin your driving adventure at Villach-Möltschach, where the ticket office is located.It first climbs in multiple hairpin turns until the road opens up to a panoramic vista of Villach, the Julian Alps, and the Karawanken.It now follows the ridge’s edge for a long time before leading above the tree line into alpine meadows to the Rosstratte destination with a view of the Dobratsch peak.
