The museum of the Karl-Franzens University provides a fascinating glimpse into the rich history of science in Graz. The permanent exhibition at UniGraz@Museum showcases a variety of fascinating objects that highlight the advancements in physical research. Among these exhibits are the largest digital book, the longest wave machine, and a collection of items that demonstrate the evolution of scientific exploration. These items range from a ship’s chronometer to the oldest surviving laser apparatus in Austria, as well as a tunnel microscope that operates without the need for light or optical lenses. The UniGraz@Museum is located on approximately 550m2 of space. It offers a comprehensive exhibition that showcases the rich 400-year history of the University of Graz, with a particular focus on the development of physics throughout the years. The exhibition brings visitors closer to scientific advances, from nature observation to nanophysics, through more than 50 objects. The museum also offers special exhibitions and workshops that are specifically designed for young audiences.
