The Traisenpark is a retail mall in Viehofen’s St. Pölten area.
Traisenpark is the third-largest shopping mall in Lower Austria, behind Shopping City Süd and Fischapark in Wiener Neustadt, with 88 stores and 35,000 square meters of retail space.Around 3 million users have access to 1,200 parking spots.
The Traisenpark was held by the Traisenpark shopping leisure establishment and rental GmbH until December 2007, when it was purchased by the Australian investor APN Funds Management for 61.5 million euros.Convergenta Invest GmbH, an investment firm founded by Erich Kellerhals, purchased the Traisenpark towards the end of 2011.The asking price is expected to be 61.5 million euros once more.
The crimson office tower with a height of 31 meters is the most eye-catching structure in the complex.This building also includes several medical clinics and a fitness facility, in addition to offices.
The 1,000-seat promotional and ice rink, which was also accessible for activities other than ice sports, is a unique feature.Meanwhile, the ice rink operation has been halted in favor of the new ice rink at the state sports school.
The mall area is nearly entirely made of glass, allowing natural light to flow in.To eliminate the artificial microclimate that is frequent in covered retail streets, extensive ventilation tilting windows with natural heat dissipation and ventilation were installed.
The enormous, squat mushroom columns and steel roof structure distinguish the three-story parking deck’s architecture.The vivid red, blue, and yellow supports stand out against the clean metallic surfaces of the roof skin.The main entrance was moved from the parking deck to the higher level in order to improve the upper floor, which is typically underutilized in buildings of this sort.
