Toy Museum Salzburg

The 16th-century Bürgerspital building, which houses the Folk Collection, the Salzburg Toy Museum, is situated in Salzburg close to the Bürgerspitalkirche St. Blasius.

Hugo Folk and Gabriel Folk-Stoi’s previous private collection served as the basis for the inventory.Apart from wooden, clay, and pewter toys, the toy museum also features dolls and dollhouses, and its distinctive feature is paper theatre.

Austria’s greatest collection on the last 250 years of European toy history is housed in this museum, which opened its doors in 1978.Following a building conversion and a comprehensive renovation of the display sections, it was reopened in 2011.

The Salzburg Museum (previously Salzburger Museum Carolino-Augusteum, or SMCA) includes the Toy Museum.
