“Time Travel Vienna” in Vienna’s city center takes you on a virtual tour through the city’s history.
The setting is historic, yet the mood is contemporary: In the arched ceilings of St. Michael’s monastery on Habsburgergasse, take a journey through the ages. Your journey begins in a 5D theater that transports guests to the period of Roman Vienna. The program also features the Black Death in Vienna, as well as rat plagues (which may be seen up close!) and the second Turkish siege of Vienna in 1683.
The headliners of the “Habsburg Show” are Emperor Maximilian I., Franz Joseph and his Sisi, and Maria Theresia (as animatronic characters). You may meet the plague doctor and “Dear Augustin” in person in the plague pit. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Strauss exchange verbal blows in the “Ballroom.” A festive ambiance is created with carousels and waltz music.
