- Baderhaus - Former Bathhouse From The 16th Century
Two well-preserved boiler foundations with the remains of a central heating system, a water pipe, a house well, and the ruins of an oven were discovered in the old bathhouse from the 16th century during repair work in 2000, and part of these may be seen in the dining room.
A historical analysis revealed that the home connected to the city’s outermost wall had vital health and economic duties for the Mur’s river port.
It most likely operated as a hostel, bar, bathing, and commodities transshipment site for docked boatmen.
The Murbad was referenced in a record for the first time when it was restored in 1613, although it must have existed before then.
The so-called barbers’ activities included cleaning and trimming hair, healing wounds, “letting veins,” and much more.
In the showroom, the foundations of a prior medieval structure may be seen. The historic bathhouse is now a fantastic restaurant.
