The cultural department of the city of Salzburg creates the exhibition program at the town hall’s baroque columned hall.Artists of many disciplines admire the unique atmosphere of this typical vaulted chamber, which, like all other City of Salzburg Gallery branches, cannot be booked for private events.It’s an unprotected corridor in a public building.Artists are thus accountable for the safety of their art.The columned hall, which was renovated in 2012, is now ready for exhibitions in its new glory.

A spectacular staircase leads from the Kranzlmarkt entry to the first floor to the city gallery in the columned hall, where four Doric columns made of Untersberg marble and twelve conglomerate pilasters support a flat groin ceiling consisting of two naves and five bays.The floor is made of Adnet marble.
