Schaumbad – Freies Atelierhaus Graz

Schaumbad – Freies Atelierhaus Graz is an artist collective that was established in 2008 in Graz, Austria. It operates as a self-organised platform for artists and is located in a former bathroom showroom. Since 2013, a collective of artists has been transforming a former soft drink factory into a space that houses studios, workshops, and two venues for exhibitions, theater, performances, discussions, and concerts.

The artists involved work in various artistic fields, including visual arts, media art, photography, video, performance, literature, and music. This fosters a mutually inspiring neighborhood that encourages synergies, such as mutual support and collective projects.

Schaumbad has developed a diverse exhibition program that includes an annual group show and curated international exhibitions. Additionally, they actively engage with local and international artists and art spaces through various activities such as symposia, workshops, online networked projects, and exhibition exchanges.
