- Robert Musil Literature Museum
The Robert Musil Literature Museum is situated in Klagenfurt, the birthplace of the internationally acclaimed Austrian poet and modern classic, Robert Musil (1880-1942).The house, which was constructed in 1867, is currently owned by the provincial capital of Klagenfurt.In 1996 and 1997, the city of Klagenfurt expanded it into a modern center for literature. This expansion aimed to create new rooms for the museum and the Robert Musil Institute for Literary Research at the University of Klagenfurt.
Since 1994, the literature museum in Klagenfurt has been under the management of the city’s cultural department. Currently, it features permanent exhibitions dedicated to renowned literary figures such as Robert Musil, Christine Lavant, and Ingeborg Bachmann.The content concept for the exhibitions is developed by Heimo Strempfl, while the exhibition design is created by architect Franz Freytag from Klagenfurt.
