Riedingtal
The Riedingtal is a small high valley located in Mühlbach am Hochkönig.
It is located on the southern slope of the Hochkönigstock and can be reached from the Erichhütte via a hiking trail in the direction of the Arthurhaus or, more simply, via the supply road that branches off from the Mandlwandstraße to the north-west below the Gasthof Sonneck and leads into the Riedingtal.
The valley is accessible by the aforementioned goods route, which locals can utilize. The Riedingalm is an alpine grazing region in the Riedingtal that includes alpine buildings.Alpine farming is conducted here during the summer months, and there is also an inn. There are gigantic beeches near the Riedingtal’s entrance that have been designated as a Salzburg natural monument.
The Riedingtal is an unusually attractive spot to visit because of its location on the southern slope of the Hochkönig and the view of the surrounding valleys and mountains.
There was previously a Nordic Center Riedingtal in the Riedingtal with ski jumping facilities, where international competitions were held and where the well-known Salzburg ski jumper and jumping instructor Bubi Bradl and associates trained. The previous ski jumps are still visible in the landscape.
