Ratzersdorfer See

The Ratzersdorfer See bathing paradise, with its wide variety of sports and leisure activities all around, is only a short distance from the city center.

The lake is a popular swimming location during the summer, and it is the sole designated bathing lake in St. Pölten in the national water management plan.It contains swimming jetties, an all-around pedestrian and cycling route, a separate nudist area, a forest boundary, and different recreational amenities such as beach volleyball courts and kiosks.As of July 2014, entry is free, although parking a car incurs a cost.

Directly on the lake are a campsite, a fitness facility, and a leisure center featuring bowling, billiards, and a lasertron arena. The Feldmühle nature walk is located north of the lake.

Since 2006, a bicycle and pedestrian bridge has connected the two Viehofner lakes west of the road, which are former gravel lakes with a floating pier and a viewing tower that have won a nature conservation award.

The Ratzersdorfer Seen parking spots on both sides of the Dr.-Adolf-Schärf-Straße are closed from 01.05. to 31.08. from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. for a price.

Half an hour costs EUR 0.50 and is paid in 50 cent increments.The highest daily cost is € 4.00.The parking places requiring a cost are identified by white rectangular signs with the green letter “P.”It applies to all bigger parking lots around the lake (Viehofner Seen, Ratzersdorfer See).In addition to automatic parking fines, you can pay with a mobile phone parking app.
