The Ranftlmühle is a medieval water mill on the Stimitz near the village of Gößl in the Ausseerland municipality of Grundlsee.
The Ranftlmühle was made of wood in 1850 and was named after the Viennese painter Johann Matthias Ranftl (1805-1854), who spent several summer months at the Grundlsee. He has returned to this mill or its precursor on several occasions to feed his creative talent. The mill was once known as “Rotbart-Mühle.” Between 2006 and 2011, the mill underwent substantial renovations. In 2006, the mill block was built of local fir wood, and the pillars above the mill wheel were replaced. The roof was replaced in May 2007.The mill wheel was rebuilt in the winter of 2010/11 and reinstalled in May 2011.On June 11, 2011, the water supply was finished.
