The new public rooms of the “Franzl” panorama restaurant atop the Schmittenhöhe greet you with imperial and delectable specialties. Regional specialties and imperial and royal era classics are provided here. Even Emperor Franz would have been impressed by the breathtaking panorama!
The name tells it all: the Schmittenhöhe panorama restaurant “Franzl” is inspired by imperial and regal times: “Franzl” unites the past and the present with its quaint-urban coziness, a mountain relief on the wall, historical hunting and winter motifs, open fireplace, and modern bar. The meal items are likewise inspired by Emperor Franz and his wife Sisi. Only the best of Austrian food is presented, from Fiakergulasch with gherkin fans to the authentic Viennese schnitzel or Powidltascherln (dough pockets filled with plum puree). The view from the panorama windows or the terrace is equally imperial: all year round, you can see the Hohe Tauern Alps and Lake Zell from here.
