MURPARK Shopping Mall

The Murpark retail mall is located in Graz’s eastern outskirts, next to the A2 motorway feeder Graz Ost. It is located on the boundary between the districts of St. Peter, Jakomini, and Liebenau.The Spar Austria Group owns the shopping mall, which has 36,000 m2 of retail space was opened in 2007.

Even though the retail complex was still in the development stages at the time, it received the MAPIC Retail Future Project Award in 2005.The Murpark, which opened on March 21, 2007, has enough space for a variety of businesses, with a total sales area of around 36,000 m2.The overall cost of construction was around 85 million euros.The commercial area has been particularly created to house 75 stores and bars.The major sales space in the retail mall is occupied by the Interspar supermarket.

In October 2007, the Austrian business publisher awarded it with the coveted “Goldene Merkur” award in appreciation of its brilliance. Only 16 stores in Austria get this prestigious award each year.Hervis, a sporting goods business, and Kastner & hler are two more important shops in the region.SES Spar European Shopping Centers, a part of the Spar Austria Group, manages the shopping mall.The Murpark received the Commendation for Established Centers at the 2013 ICSC European Shopping Center Awards. In addition, it was named the most bicycle-friendly retail mall in Graz and its surrounds in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, and 2014.
