The Ludwig Foundation Vienna Museum of Modern Art ( mumok ) is a federal museum located in the MuseumsQuartier in Vienna’s 7th district, Neubau.

The Mumok began as a 20th-century museum on September 20, 1962, in the 20er Haus (the former Austria pavilion at the 1958 World Exhibition in Brussels).Werner Hofmann was the first director.In just a few years, he was able to purchase and develop the collection of key works of classical modernism. The current structure was completed in 2001.
