The Mountain Carts are a highly popular summer attraction at Semmering.
The route, which spans almost 3 kilometers in length, provides an enjoyable and thrilling downhill adventure suitable for the entire family.The cable car ride from the mountain station to the valley station of the Semmering Hischenkogel cable car is a delightful experience. The cable car is thoughtfully designed with meadow curves, catwalks, flat sections, amusing steep curves, as well as seesaws and waves.All obstacles offer the possibility of selecting a straightforward alternative route.
The helmets are available for use at the valley station.Please make sure to wear sturdy shoes.
Children who are at least 8 years old and accompanied by an adult (who has their own mountain cart) are allowed to use the mountain carts. Additionally, children must be at least 150 cm tall to be eligible to use the mountain carts.The mountain carts available at Bikepark Semmering are designed to accommodate only one person.
It is recommended to use this route for children over the age of 12 due to the technical driving requirements and the varying weather conditions that may be encountered.
1a Family Easy – 2800 – very easy
After taking the cable car ascent, there is a gravel road that stretches for nearly 3 kilometers. The road has an average width of 6 meters and offers a comfortable and speedy descent from the mountain station of the cable car to the valley. The road has a moderate gradient of approximately 5%.As the riders descend, they are treated to a breathtaking view of the charming spa town of Semmering, along with iconic landmarks such as the Hotel Panhans, the Südbahnhotel, and the renowned 20-Schilling view.Whether you prefer the speed of a mountain cart or the experience of riding a mountain bike, all riders will certainly find great value in either choice.Enjoy a fun-filled experience for the entire family, which can be enhanced by combining it with a scenic hike on the Hirschenkogel, an exhilarating test of courage at the “Freefall” attraction, or a visit to the historic Liechtenstein House.
1b Family Medium – 400m – easy
On this slightly more challenging version of the family route, riders will pass through a forest next to the ski slope. Here, the more adventurous riders can anticipate encountering their first steep curves and other exciting challenges.The route, which has a width of 2 to 3 meters, meanders through diverse terrain for several hundred meters before looping back to the family route.Ideal for experienced and adventurous riders seeking excitement.
2 Schlingeltrail – 1000m – easy-medium – MTB only (no carts)
The Schlingeltrail takes you along the Kogel slope and directly into the heart of the bike park.This route is designed for enthusiastic mountain bikers, taking them through a series of small, steep curves and waves, ultimately leading to the freeride bridge.The trail gently slopes with an average gradient of 7% and is clear of any obstacles as it winds its way towards the valley.At the halfway point, you will need to make a decision. You can either continue on the easy family route (1a) or switch to the freeride routes of the bike park (4 to 13) in search of a more challenging experience.
