Mothwurf, an old-established Austrian family company, has relocated to the Getreidegasse. Traditional costume manufacturers’ over 250-year lineage is mixed with new components and cuts.

The Mothwurf family has origins in the textile industry, dating back to 1770. Stefanie and Helmuth Schramke started the Mothwurf Company – Austrian Couture in 1988. Since the beginning, the major focus of the designs has been on traditional attire, which has been constantly interpreted with modern features.

Mothwurf places a strong emphasis on femininity. The skirt is the key concept, which is accessible in diverse forms, colors, and lengths in each collection. The “Sisi” skirt, a pleated, knee-length swing skirt designed by Stefanie Schramke in 2008, is a special standout. It was so well appreciated at the time that it has remained a staple in every collection thereafter. Dresses, dirndls, form-fitting blazers and jackets, and slim-fitting pants are all classic Mothwurf items.
