The Mirabell Gardens were redesigned in its current shape on behalf of Prince Archbishop Johann Ernst von Thun in 1687, with the architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach in charge of the entire design.Matthias Diesel renovated the structure in minor portions about 1720 and in major parts around 1730 by the architect and court garden inspector Franz Anton Danreiter.Except for the dwarf garden, the baroque statues were mostly maintained.Changes were also made in the design of garden decorations, such as the shape of fountains, such as T., the sala terrena, which was renovated numerous times, and the arrangement and shape of the orangery. In times of necessity, the garden was also utilized to raise crops for a brief period.
Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach created the marble balustrades that surround the wide garden parterre with its decorative vases.Anton Danreiter modified the layout of the balustrades and statues in great detail around 1730.The statue arrangement, which was later somewhat altered, was likewise based on ideas by Fischer von Erlach.
