Maria Rekker Park

Maria-Rekker-Park is a park in Vienna’s Favoriten neighborhood.

The Maria-Rekker-Park is a 2100 m2 Beserlpark in the Favoriten district.Between Favoritenstrasse, Maria-Rekker-Gasse, Weldengasse, and Katharinengasse is the park.The park features benches and a drinking fountain in addition to meadows and an ancient tree stock.

On January 18, 1996, the Vienna Municipal Council Committee for Culture named the Maria-Rekker-Park and the neighboring Maria-Rekker-Gasse after VP district councilor Maria Rekker (1902-1991).Because of her dedication to the social care of the elderly, Maria Rekker was dubbed the “Angel of the Favoritner Unemployed.”
