- Loosbar American Bar
The iconic bar, designed by Adolf Loos, has stood the test of time for over a century and continues to be as popular as it was when it was first created.
The Loosbar is consistently crowded every evening. Navigating through this is nearly impossible. With a size of only 27 square meters, this bar holds the title of being the smallest in Vienna. For the past 110 years, a fascinating array of guests has gathered at this location. The American Bar, designed by Adolf Loos, is loved by people from all walks of life, ranging from hipsters to lawyers, and from celebrities to janitors. The capacity of the place is astonishing, impressing everyone with the number of people it can accommodate. And that includes glass as well.
Adolf Loos, an architect and artist who was considered controversial at the time, played a significant role in initiating architectural modernism in Vienna. In 1908, after spending a considerable amount of time in America, he designed the bar that is now listed as a heritage site. He introduced a revolutionary concept with the Loos Bar, which has had a significant impact on numerous bars across America. He used wood, glass, brass, and onyx to create a one-of-a-kind ambiance. The room appears larger due to the presence of numerous mirrors. There is no need to be afraid of contact in this situation, as the desire for privacy is not appropriate here. However, there is no one who comes for that. The Loosbar is a cult favorite.
