Laubepark

Laubepark is a park in Vienna’s Favoriten neighborhood.

The Laubepark is a 7500 m2 park in the Favoriten neighborhood. It is located within Laubeplatz. The park was enlarged by a little more than 2000 m2 beyond Buchengasse in 2006.Previously, it was somewhat more than 5000 m2. The enlargement and makeover cost roughly 550,000 euros.In addition to meadows and ancient trees, the park features a playground for children and young people, a soccer field, a volleyball court, a sand and mud area, a basketball court, seats, a dog zone, and a drinking fountain, as well as seasonal park monitoring by Kinderfreunde Wien.

The Laubepark gets its name from the Laubeplatz, where it is (mostly) located.On March 3, 1891, Laubeplatz was named after the German writer, dramatist, theater director, and politician Heinrich Laube.
