Lake Zell

Zeller See is a beautiful glacial alpine lake at the foot of the Schmittenhöhe Mountain. The lake is bordered by lush green fields and is one of Europe’s cleanest.

A 12-kilometer walk or bike journey around Lake Zell entices with views of the Steinernes Meer, Kitzsteinhorn, and Schmittenhöhe Mountains.

Zell am See, Thumersbach, and Schüttdorf all have lidos (public beaches), sunbathing grounds, and lakeside cafés. These locations are ideal for jumping into the lake, which has an average summer temperature of 21 °C.

Summer evenings in Zell am See come alive with color and spectacle as the water dances to the beat of the bursting lights. The Laser and Light Show may be seen from anywhere along the Esplanade, although the greatest vantage point is in front of the Lake Promenade’s music pavilion.
