Kroisbach Castle

The Kroisbach Castle, also known as Haignitzhof, is located in the Mariatrost district of Graz, specifically in the eleventh district.

Kroisbach Castle is situated on the western slope of the Grazer Platte, within the beautiful Mariagrüntal.The building was constructed in the Baroque style between 1650 and 1655 by the skilled masonry master Domenico Rossi. It was commissioned by Count Abundio Inzaghi.Under the rule of the Counts of Galler, two conversions occurred – one in 1694 and another in the 19th century.The west facade was restored in 1965.

The Kroisbach Castle is a rectangular building with two floors and two inner courtyards.An onion dome was added to the west wing, which features a single-storey wooden turret.The south-east corner room features a round arched stone portal and Biedermeier stoves from the second quarter of the 19th century, which are particularly noteworthy.
