Konditorei Schatz

The inside of Konditorei Schatz is just as nostalgic as the outside. A truly master confectioner conducts the magnificent art of sweet seduction in the corridor between Getreidegasse and Universitätsplatz.

In 18777, the Konditorei Schatz Patisserie was established. This old-established company in Getreidegasse number 3 is quite close to Mozart’s Birthplace and is one of Salzburg’s most lovely and tiniest patisseries. Its Gothic ceilings and unique decor are evocative of an ancient dolls’ house: densely packed tables, velvet-covered chairs, flowery wallpaper, and glass display cases filled with desserts, pies, and biscuits, with Mozart Amadeus Mozart providing gentle background music.

  • Specialities: Papageno-cake, Traunkirchner cake, raspberry soufflé, cherry rolls, Schatz-Cremeschnitte [cream cake], Rigo-Jancsi (chocolate-cream cake), apple-, curd chees- and cherry strudel, Danish pastries
  • Special feature: specialities to go include biscuits, meringues, egg yolk biscuits, coconut biscuits as well as cheese sticks and cheese crackers
