The Klangturm is a St. Pölten landmark and, depending on how you define it, the highest or, after the cathedral, the second tallest building in the city.It was erected in 1996 and has been in use since the spring of 1997.Ernst Hoffmann designed the Klangturm and the government district in addition to the Klangturm.
The structure has a footprint of 15 by 15 meters and a total height of 77 meters including the antenna.The roof is adorned with radio masts, a weather panorama camera, radio masts for numerous mobile providers, and other antennae.
A viewing deck is located approximately 47 meters in height and may be reached via the panoramic lift or 280 stairs.
The Klangturm is made of 650 tons of steel and 1000 square meters of glass.
There are three spheres in the tower, each having a diameter of 5.70 meters and a weight of about nine tons.They serve as listening stations
