Heimatmuseum

Heimatmuseum is a local history museum in Altenmarkt im Pongau, a small town in the Austrian state of Salzburg. The museum consists of two buildings: the Hoamathaus and the Dechanthoftenne.

The Hoamathaus is a former farmhouse that dates back to 1408 and showcases the life and culture of the farmers and miners in the past. The Dechanthoftenne is a former barn that displays various exhibits on topics such as crafts, religion, folklore, and tourism.

The museum also highlights the role of women in the local history until the mid-20th century. The museum is open from Wednesday to Friday from 16:00 to 18:00, and on Sundays from 14:00 to 16:00. The admission fee is 5 euros for adults, 3 euros for children, and 4 euros for reduced tickets.
