Hamerling Park

The Hamerlingpark on the Hamerlingplatz is a park in Vienna’s 8th district, the Josefstadt.It is the second biggest park in the 8th district after Schönbornpark, with an area of around 6,000 m2.It lies one block north of Josefstädter Strasse, between Skodagasse and Kupkagasse.

The Josefstadt barracks were previously located on the grounds of Hamerling Park.It was dismantled from 1903 to 1910 as part of the barracks transaction, and Hamerlingplatz and Park, named after the Austrian writer Robert Hamerling, were built in its place.

The park has children’s play areas, lounging places, and a dog zone.
