Today, the golf course is a stunning and meticulously designed landscape that resembles a park. This area used to be solely dedicated to agricultural monoculture.

Hole 1: Pebble Beach Golf Club

Hole 7, par 3, 97 meters

Pebble Beach is renowned as one of the most breathtaking golf courses globally, and its 7th hole is widely regarded as the most photographed hole in the world. Tom Kite secured victory in the 1992 US Open thanks to his remarkable chip-in on the 7th hole. The US Open is not the only event held on this course; the annual Bing Crosby ProAm is also played here. Difficulty of the hole: If you miss the tee, you have a heavy chip or bunker shot on the green in front of you.

Hole 2: St. Andrews Old Course

Hole 11 (high-in), par 3, 157 meters

For over 500 years, golf has been played on this particular piece of land, and remarkably, the course has remained largely unchanged throughout this extensive period. This place is considered the birthplace of golf. The winners of the British Open were Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, Tom Watson, and Nick Faldo. Difficulty of the hole: A long tee shot has to be played over a deep pot bunker on a very wavy green.

Hole 3: Royal Troon Golf Club

Hole 8 (Postage Stamp), Par 3, 115 meters

The club was established in 1878. The famous “Postage Stamp” hole is known for its challenging nature, despite its modest length of only 115 meters. The winners of the British Open include Bobby Jones, Lee Trevino, and Mark Calcavecchia. Difficulty of the hole: The green is well defended by several bunkers. You don’t have any room for error here. Always try to place your tee shot in the middle of the green.

Hole 4: Golf Club Murhof

Hole 4, par 3, 137 meters

Dr. Bernhard von Limburger originally planned this plant in 1962, with a subsequent redesign by Michaeal Pinner from 1996 to 2000. This square is considered one of the most beautiful places in Europe. Difficulty of the hole: Stay too short with your tee shot, as the putt downhill is very difficult.

Hole 5: Carnoustie Golf Links

Hole 13 (Whins), par 3, 153 meters

It has hosted the British Open five times and was voted the best course in Great Britain in 1993. The winners include Henry Cotton, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, and Tom Watson. The course was designed by Tom Morris, a renowned Scottish golf professional. Difficulty of the hole: Do not leave the ball too short, otherwise the bunker in front of the green will swallow your ball.

Hole 6: Muirfield

Hole 13, par 3, 145 meters

The British Open has been held at this location since 1892. Gary Player, Lee Trevino, Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, and Nick Faldo are widely recognized as some of the most renowned champions. Difficulty of the hole: An elongated green where the flag position is very important.

Hole 7: Royal St. George’s Golf Club

Hole 6 (The Maiden), par 3, 142 meters

This course has been in existence since 1885 and holds the distinction of being the first English venue for the British Open. Some of the famous winners include Bobby Locke, Sandy Lyle, and Greg Norman. Difficulty of the hole: This picturesque par 3 hole is located in a bowl of dunes. Try to play the ball to the right green plateau from the outset, as a putt over a wave is also a problem for good players.

Hole 8: TPC Sawgrass

Hole 17, par 3, 120 meters, US Ranking No. 32

The renowned golf course, designed by Pete Dye, features a challenging layout that has earned it the reputation of being a monster course. One hole in particular, the 17th, has gained worldwide recognition for being the most difficult par 3 hole in existence. Some of the notable winners of the tournament include Steve Elkington, Sandy Lyle, Davis Love III, and Nick Price. Difficulty of the hole: Every mistake is a penalty.

Hole 9: Augusta National Golf Club

Hole 16 (Redbud), Par 3, 155 meters

The annual US MASTERS tournament has been hosted by this club since 1934. The architect responsible for designing what is widely regarded as the most meticulously maintained complex in the world was Alister Mackenzie, who worked in collaboration with the legendary Bobby Jones. Some of the famous winners of the tournament include Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, Bernhard Langer, and Nick Faldo. Difficulty of the hole: The strong undulations of the green force you to read the putting line carefully; a 2-putt is a success.
