Gänsehäufel

The Gänsehäufel has been a highly favored bathing location in Vienna since the early 1900s. This location is an island situated in the Old Danube, offering ample space. During peak periods, this location attracts up to 18,000 individuals seeking sun and water recreation. Several natural bathing beaches and five distinct pool areas offer cooling off and recreational opportunities. The focal point of this establishment is the expansive wave pool. However, recreational activities are also abundant on the water slide and in the sports pool. The infant guests derive pleasure from the designated baby area.

On the island, there is a high-rope climbing garden, stand-up paddling, and a well-known nudism area. The cabanas located within the Gänsehäufel area constitute a distinct and self-contained environment. Some of these cabins serve the purpose of small allotment huts. Nevertheless, it is prohibited for the inhabitants to spend the night in the cabanas and they must vacate the premises of Gänsehäufel in accordance with the regulations. The cabins are highly sought after and challenging to acquire.
