Fürthermoar Alm

The Fürthermoaralm is an alpine pasture with a rich history that can be traced back to the 17th century. It is situated between the high mountain reservoirs Mooserboden and Wasserfallboden. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to explore the rich history of the alpine pasture’s museum and indulge in delicious homemade dishes prepared in the kitchen. Closed for the summer of 2022.

In the Kaprun Valley, alpine pastures were once replaced by the construction of a hydroelectric power plant. However, there was one owner who refused to give up their place. In 1949, the owners of the Fürthermoaralm decided to buy back what remained of their former home. Their initial intention was to provide milk to the workers of the hydroelectric power station. The Fürthermoaralm, which is located between the high mountain reservoirs of Mooserboden and Wasserfallboden, has once again become a popular summer destination for hikers and mountaineers. The milk bar remains open, along with an alpine farm shop where you can purchase smoked bacon, cheese, or syrup to bring back home. Are you interested in exploring the rich history of this renowned alpine farm in greater detail? The on-site museum provides comprehensive information and is certainly worth a visit.
