Evangelische Pfarrgemeinde Zell am See

The Church of the Resurrection, located in Zell am See, Austria, is an Evangelical Lutheran parish church in the state of Salzburg.She is a member of the Evangelical Superintendency AB Salzburg and Tyrol.

The Zeller Auferstehungskirche, established in 1959, is among the “Transylvanian churches” that emerged as a result of the refugee movements during the aftermath of the Second World War. These churches were established to accommodate the growing number of Protestants seeking refuge in the region.The parish church and vicarage ensemble to the south was designed by Kurt Glondys, who is the son of Viktor Glondys, the former bishop of Transylvania.The church, which is a simple hall church with a protruding, open vestibule crowned by a ridge turret, was inaugurated on November 9, 1958.The church interior features pointed arches that support the open gabled roof. This shape is also repeated in the chancel arch of the rectangular chancel.The liturgical furnishings, including the crucifix, pulpit, and baptismal font, were designed by Gustav Resatz in 1958. Additionally, the fresco titled “Creation” was painted by Walter Stengl.
