Eva and Otto Benesch Park

The Eva-und-Otto-Benesch-Park (until 2020 Otto-Benesch-Park ) is a park in Vienna’s Favoriten neighborhood.

The Eva-und-Otto-Benesch-Park is a 16,000-square-meter park in Inzersdorf-Stadt.The park is located at the northern end of the Wienerberg recreation area, to the east of a new district intended as Biotope City on the former Coca-Cola grounds, and is surrounded by the streets Enge Lucken, Sickingengasse, and Sahulkastraße at its northeast end.The park is part of the Favoriten landscape protection area, and it flows seamlessly into the Wienerberg leisure area.Aside from meadows and an ancient tree stock, the park features a playground for small children, children and young people, a sand playground, and a water fountain.Dogs are not permitted in the park at any time.

On February 12, 1981, the Municipal Council Committee for Culture of the City of Vienna dedicated the park after the art historian and director of the Albertina Otto Benesch (1896-1964), who was fired by the Nazi dictatorship owing to his wife’s non-Aryan origin and forced to escape to the United States. His wife, Eva Benesch, was added to the naming in 2021, and the park was renamed appropriately.
