Europaplatz

Europaplatz is a square located in Graz.The location of the place is in the districts of IV. Lend and V. Gries.

The Europaplatz serves as the main traffic hub in Graz.The location of the place is right beside the Graz main train station. It consists of an underground tram stop called Graz Hauptbahnhof (located in the basement), along with a bus station that serves long-distance, regional, and city buses.

Located at the northern end, right in front of the listed building of the station post office, you will find the bus station that serves both regional and long-distance routes.

The Graz main train station, formerly known as Stationsplatz Graz and then Südbahnhof, is a busy through station located in Graz. It holds the distinction of being the busiest train station in Austria, outside of Vienna, with a daily customer frequency of over 42,000 people or 520 trains.

The railway station connects various long-distance and local transport connections operated by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), the Graz-Köflacher-Bahn (GKB), and the Steiermarkbahn (StB).

The main train station boasts a total of twelve main tracks, along with several side tracks and ten platform tracks. All switches and signals at the station are controlled and set by the ESTW Graz system.Additionally, there is a designated loading point for car trains located on platform 21. Car access to this loading point is now available through Niesenbergergasse.

Bus traffic, including city, regional, and long-distance buses, as well as taxi rides, are managed through multiple platforms located on two forecourts.

For several years now, the tram lines that previously terminated at street level in loops on the forecourt have been crossing underneath the station building at its southern end.
