Dr. Rudolf Hatschek Park

Dr. -Rudolf-Hatschek-Park is a park in Vienna’s Liesing neighborhood.

The Dr.-Rudolf-Hatschek-Park is a 1,500 m2 Beserlpark in the heart of Liesing’s Schrailplatz. The Beserlpark features benches as well as a Franz Schubert memorial stone, which was dedicated by the Atzgersdorf male chorus.

The park was named on May 19, 1954, in the municipal council committee for culture of the city of Vienna after the social democratic Atzgersdorfer doctor Dr. Rudolf Hatschek (1874-1939), who became a victim of fascism because, following Austria’s annexation, he fell under the Nuremberg Race Laws enacted by the National Socialists and was barred from working.
