Donaulände

The Donaulände, also known as the Donaupark or Lände, is a public park in Linz located in the city center between the Nibelungen Bridge and the VOEST Bridge on the Danube’s southern bank. The park covers an area of about 40 hectares and includes green spaces, playgrounds, sports facilities, and cafes. The park is open all year round and is accessible by foot, bike, or public transport.

The Donaulände is both a recreational park and a site for cultural events. The Lentos art museum, which opened in 2003, is a striking glass structure that lights up in different colors at night. The museum displays a collection of contemporary art from the 20th and 21st centuries, as well as temporary exhibitions and events. The museum also has a library, a shop, and a cafe with a terrace overlooking the river.

The Brucknerhaus, named after the famous composer Anton Bruckner, who was born in Linz, is a concert hall that was built in 1973. The hall has a distinctive curved shape and a copper roof that reflects the sunlight. The hall hosts classical and modern music concerts, as well as conferences and ceremonies. The hall has a capacity of 1,400 seats and is equipped with state-of-the-art acoustics and technology.
