The Don Bosco Church, built in the 1980s in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, is a Roman Catholic church.
On the initiative of the then-pastor of Klagenfurt-Sieben Hügel, Father Franz Penz SDB, the Diocese of Gurk purchased the property on Hirschenwirtstrasse in 1959.Today’s parish began as a parish of the parish of St. Josef-Sieben Hügel at the time.Thirteen years later, an apartment on the Schmelzhüttenstraße was briefly converted into a Don Bosco pastoral care facility, where church services were held from 1972 until 1983.The foundation stone for the new Don Bosco Church was not set until May 9, 1981, by Vicar General Franz Kirchner.On May 6, 1984, the church was solemnly dedicated by the diocesan bishop Egon Kapellari after a nearly three-year construction phase.
The Catholic community center Don Bosco is a rectorate, according to canon law, that belongs to the parish church of Klagenfurt-St. Josef-Siebenhügel.
