Catholic Parish Church Traun

The Roman Catholic Traun town parish church is located in the district of St. Dionysen inside the municipality of Traun, which is located in Upper Austria.The St. Dionysius subordinate parish church is linked with the Deanery of Traun within the Diocese of Linz and is dedicated to St. Dionysius, the patron saint.

The church was built between 1882 and 1890 in line with Raimund Jeblinger’s architectural ideas.Between 2014 and 2015, the repair project included both the inside and outside of the property.

The church’s architectural style is neo-Gothic, with three aisles and a west tower capped with a pointed helmet.

Raimund Jeblinger created the neo-Gothic interior design.Josef Kepplinger, a well-known sculptor, created the majority of the sculptures.Three wooden sculptures of saints originating from around 1500 may be seen on the top walls of the central nave.The new People’s Altar, designed by Katarina Matiasek, was installed in 2014.

The instrument in question has 1134 pipes with sizes ranging from 8 mm to 5.25 m, as well as two manuals and 18 registers. It was built by Ottensheim’s renowned organ builder Leopold Breinbauer.Josef Kepplinger developed the dwelling unit.The organ was almost certainly performed during the church’s consecration ceremony in 1890.The structure had extensive restorations in 1989.
