Catholic Parish Church of St. John the Baptist

St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish Church is a Roman Catholic church in Haus, Ennstal.The patron saint of the church is Saint John the Baptist.

The parish church of St. John the Baptist was mentioned for the first time in 1074.In 1750, a devastating fire destroyed this Romanesque-style prayer house.On the site of the previous prayer chapel, master builder Cassian Singer built today’s parish church in the rococo style from 1750 to 1753.The interior design was mostly the responsibility of Balthasar Prandtstätter, an artistic carver.

The high altar shows John the Baptist baptizing Jesus Christ. A purgatory scene is shown on the cross altar on the left side altar.The right side altar is a Marian altar, with the Immaculate Conception in the center and pictures of Mary and Jesus’ secular relationships in the background.
