Calvary Chapel Gosau

Kalvarienberg Gosau is a calvary in Upper Austria with four chapels and the Calvary Church in the municipality of Gosau in the district of Gmunden. The chapel was built in 1775 by two sisters who were salt production daughters from Hallstatt. They donated 700 crowns to construct the chapel on an energy field that was discovered by expert inhabitants of Gosau. The chapel has four smaller chapels along the steps that lead to it, each representing one of the four secrets of the painful rosary. The fifth secret is hidden inside the chapel itself. The chapel offers a stunning view of the Gosau valley and the mountains.
