Bürgerspitalskirche St. Martin

The Bürgerspital, a multi-winged building complex, has been documented since the early 14th century, and the church was constructed in the 14th and 15th centuries.

The building’s core was constructed between the 15th and 16th centuries.The Martin chapel was constructed in 1331.A late Gothic pointed arch gateway and a two-panel window with fish bladder tracery can be seen on the building’s north side.A female saint is shown in a fresco next to the gateway.

The Bürgerspitalskirche is choir contains two double-lane tracery windows.A ribbed vault from the second part of the 15th century may be found in the nave.The 14th-century ribbed vault in the choir is closed with a keystone representing the Lamb of God.

The renowned Martinstafel of 1518, named after its unknown master and on loan to the Landesmuseum Joanneum, originates here.The Martinstafel is one of Styria’s most notable late Gothic constructions.The memorial is currently part of the Federal Forester’s School in Bruck’s school center and is utilized for school events.
