Brunnenmarkt

The Brunnenmarkt is one of Vienna’s most important markets.The Brunnenmarkt, with over 170 market stalls and a length of 948 meters, is Europe’s largest permanent street retail market. It is Vienna’s cheapest market and is also known as “Orient around the corner” because to its colorful and ethnic atmosphere. The products on offer range from cafés, bars, and Middle Eastern cuisine to regional cuisines, souvenirs, and designer items.

Following the Brunnengasse pedestrian zone down to the Ottakring zone, a short distance from the Josefstädter Straße station, you will find the market. The market is popular among locals, but tourists are rapidly realizing that it is worth a visit due to its uniqueness and wide range of produce. Wandering along alleyways covered with murals and lined with kiosks of every possible sort, one can discover the most sought-after delicacies of Austrian cuisine as well as food from a range of other countries. Aside from fresh fruit, there are apparel and utensil stalls. However, street food enthusiasts need not worry because there are numerous kiosks and stalls where you can sample international specialties or enjoy traditional Viennese cuisine.
