Blaickner’s Sonnalm is a modest, rustic mountain inn located on the Schmittenhöhe, just adjacent to the upper end of the Sonnenalmbahn cable car. The mountain hotel serves as a vacation home in both winter and summer, and it is also a popular gathering spot for a relaxing break.
Blaickner’s Sonnalm was the first true mountain hotel in Zell am See towards the end of the 1950s: the charming mountain inn has preserved its beauty to this day, despite the addition of contemporary conveniences. Overnight accommodations at Blaickner’s Sonnalm are available in carefully crafted double and four-bed rooms. Day guests are also welcome at this bright spot: the Sunday brunch is a gastronomic highlight in both winter and summer. Weddings, birthdays, and other private gatherings are also held at the Sonnalm. Blaickner’s Sonnalm is easily accessible by gondola with the Sonnenalmbahn and is positioned right along the Schmittenhöhe pistes in winter and hiking routes in summer.
