Bauernmarkt Hartberg

Bauernmarkt Hartberg is a farmers’ market in Hartberg, a city in the Austrian state of Styria. It is a popular destination for locals and visitors who want to buy regional and healthy food from the farmers and direct marketers in Eastern Styria. The market offers a wide range of products, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, cheese, meat, eggs, honey, jams, juices, wine, and more. The market is open every Tuesday and Friday from 12 to 17:30, all year round, on the Europaplatz in front of the Kapuzinerkloster (Capuchin Monastery).

The Bauernmarkt Hartberg has a long history, dating back to 1980, when it was founded by a group of farmers who wanted to sell their produce directly to the consumers. Since then, the market has grown to include 12 regular vendors, who are all members of the association “Hartberger Bauernmarkt”. The association aims to promote the quality and diversity of the local products, as well as to support the small-scale and organic farming in the region. The association also organizes special events, such as the annual plant market in April/May, the Easter market in March, and the traditional annual fairs on Ash Wednesday and St. Catherine’s Day.

The Bauernmarkt Hartberg is not only a place to shop, but also a place to socialize and enjoy the atmosphere of the city.
