The Augarten, with its expansive lawns and avenues, has been a beloved destination for visitors of all ages since the early 1900s.
The Augarten is a significant urban open space, situated between the Mur and Pestalozzistraße/Neuholdaugasse. It spans an area of approximately 75,000 m².
The initial significant renovations occurred from 1951 to 1953, during which the music pavilion, toilet facility, and refreshment kiosk were constructed.The Augartensteg over the Mur provided convenient access to the park for the residents of the Gries district.The children’s play area was expanded in 2007, and since 2020, the new “Augarten Bay” has provided local residents with a recreational space right along the Mur river.The Augarten features a dog meadow that enhances its outdoor space.
