• Lechnerdörfl: Originally developed in the 10th century, this is the oldest area of Kaprun where the first settlement was established. It lies close to the 12th-century Kaprun Castle and the Kapruner Ache brook. Originally home of the Salzburg burgraves, the castle eventually housed the Prince-Archbishops of Salzburg. It is today a museum and a stage for cultural activities. Built in the fifteenth century and rebuilt in the eighteenth, Lechnerdörfl also boasts the parish church of St. Margareta. The church boasts Romanesque baptismal font, Baroque altar, and Gothic nave.

• Winkeldörfl: Emerging in the 20th century, this area is a hive of both businesses and homes. This eastern side of Kaprun property is ideally located along the main road connecting to Zell am See. Winkeldörfl, with its mix of stores, restaurants, hotels, and residences, radiates modern and cosmopolitan atmosphere. Besides, the Tauern Spa World is really close by. Opening its doors in 2010, this large spa complex offers a wide spectrum of wellness and recreational activities. • Fürth: Found on the southern slopes of the Kitzsteinhorn mountain, Fürth is a rural area. The valley boasts a lovely and attractive scene with its several farms and hamlets. Along with its rich and vivid alpine legacy, Fürth is known for its amazing views of the glacier and the great Hohe Tauern range. • Kaprun-Zentrum: Comprising a great array of public amenities and services, Kaprun-Zentrum is the busy center of Kaprun. Situated on the western side of Kaprun beside the Salzach river. Kaprun-Zentrum’s architecture offers a window into the rich history and expansion of the town by combining modern and traditional forms. Among the noteworthy sites in Kaprun-Zentrum are the town hall, post office, fire station, school, library, and movie theater. To fit different tastes and needs, Kaprun-Zentrum has a wide spectrum of stores, cafés, pubs, and clubs. With so many events and celebrations held all year long, Kaprun-Zentrum forms the center of the town’s active social and cultural life.
