Mutteralm Ski Area
Little local ski resort Mutteralm boasts 20 kilometers of skiable terrain with a vertical drop of 850 meters. It is between 950 and 1,800 meters above sea level. It’s one of the nine surrounding ski resorts known as Olympia SkiWorld Innsbruck.
Mutteralm provides something for any level of seasoned, intermediate, or rookie skier. From the village of Gotzens, southwest of Innsbruck, gondola access the very steep red slopes of the resort. These slopes are ideal for thrill-seekers wishing to test their boundaries and enjoy the vast Stubai Alps panorama. Alternatively, you might use another ski resort’s connecting lift from Olympia SkiWorld Innsbruck.
If you would want to go Tobogganing or on milder blue slopes, Mutters is a tiny village southeast of Innsbruck where you might take the gondola. Here you can find wide, sunny slopes perfect for beginners and families. Another fun sport is the 4.5-kilometer toboggan slide, which winds over the forest and finishes at the valley station of the gondola.
Mutteralm also provides a ski school for those wishing to improve their techniques, a snow park for freestylers, and many charming mountain cottages where one may enjoy local cuisine and drinkable water.
From Innsbruck, Mutteralm is quite handy to reach Mutters with just 7 kilometers (13 minutes) separating them and Gotzens with 8 kilometers (15 minutes). One more choice is to ride the free ski bus, which usually runs between Innsbruck and the two towns. The public transportation system consists of buses, trains, and trams that you might also utilize. The official website of the Innsbruck Tourism Board provides further specifics about the timetables and costs.
