Districts & Neighborhoods in Alpbach
Alpbach is split up into a number of charming and distinct communities and districts. Principal districts are:
- Alpbach Dorf: The majority of the stores, restaurants, lodgings, and attractions are situated in Alpbach Dorf, the historical and cultural hub of the town. Admire the parish church, the Congress Centrum Alpbach, the European Forum Alpbach, and the classic wooden dwellings here. Together with the cable car to the Wiedersberger Horn, Alpbach Dorf is the beginning point of several hiking and bike routes.
- Inneralpbach: The valley stops and the mountains start at this southernmost part of Alpbach. Here is where the 53 km of slopes and 18 lifts catering to all skill levels of skiing are located. Additionally well-liked for winter hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing is Inneralpbach. Given its surrounds of hills, woods, and alpine meadows, Inneralpbach is a naturalist’s dream come true in the summer.
- Hochkolber: Hochkolber is a little neighborhood with a broad view of the mountains and valley on the eastern side of Alpbach. A calm and serene location, Hochkolber is perfect for resting and relaxing. Here are various comfortable guesthouses, farms, and chalets together with a playground and a chapel.
- Hygna: The rustic and genuine side of Alpbach may be experienced at the Hygna area on the western side of the town. Alpbach’s oldest and most authentic wooden homes, together with a few farms and cottages, may be found near Hygna. In addition, you may sample some of the regional delicacies and learn about the history and manufacturing of cheese in Alpbach at the Alpbach Cheese Dairy.
Though there are additional smaller and less well-known districts and neighborhoods in Alpbach, including Großhartberg, Scheffach, Holdernach, and Klingleralm, these are the principal ones.
