abba Xalet Suites hotel is a superior four-star property in Sispony, in the parish of La Massana. It occupies two buildings whose architecture is inspired by Provençal châteaux and combines standard rooms, family rooms, junior suites and larger suites. The hotel is around two kilometres from the La Massana cable car, which gives access to the Pal-Arinsal ski area, and about four kilometres from central Andorra la Vella. Its two-building layout, range of family accommodation and substantial spa and sports offer distinguish it from a simple roadside hotel. Guests should note that many facilities are seasonal or operate on a timetable, and the outdoor pool is not open all year.
The Xalet building contains standard rooms, rooms with balconies and family rooms. The operator lists standard layouts of roughly 25–35 square metres, with bedding for two or three people, and family formats for up to four. The separate Suites building has junior suites and larger suites, with a bedroom and living area arranged as distinct spaces. Junior suites can accommodate up to four people, while the 55-square-metre suite is designed for up to two. The distinction between the buildings matters for pet stays: the operator accepts dogs up to 20 kg in eligible rooms, but dogs are not allowed in the Suites building. Confirm the exact building and room category before booking, especially for families, guests with mobility needs or anyone travelling with a pet.
Restaurant Carroi serves Andorran and regional dishes, with the operator highlighting preparations such as braised oxtail, honey-glazed suckling pig and cod pil-pil. Hotel dining also includes a buffet breakfast, with an express breakfast available earlier in the morning. The regular breakfast buffet is listed daily from 07:30 to 10:00; in July and August the published window shifts to 08:00–10:30. Restaurant service includes lunch from 13:00 to 15:30 and dinner from 19:30 to 22:20, both requiring a reservation according to the current hotel FAQ. Meal plans can alter how guests use the restaurant: half-board customers may choose lunch or dinner, and a picnic can be requested in place of breakfast or lunch by notifying reception before 19:00 the previous day. Confirm the meal schedule for the stay dates because the operator’s booking conditions and services page do not always present identical breakfast windows.
The Natura Spa is a paid wellness area with a jacuzzi, waterfall and rain showers, a heated bench with foot bath, sauna, relaxation room and treatment spaces. Published general hours are 11:00–21:00, with separate admission priced at €15 per person per hour. Access is for guests aged 16 and over; anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The booking website may include one hour per person per stay for eligible direct reservations, but this should not be assumed for every rate. Massages and treatments are additional services. Because the hotel publishes multiple spa sessions and a maximum capacity, reserve with reception and verify the current session schedule rather than arriving without a booking.
An outdoor heated pool and garden are available during the warmer part of the year. The current hotel FAQ gives the season as 1 June to 15 September and pool hours as 10:00–20:00; towels are provided against a €10 deposit. Some other operator pages show a slightly different closing date, so verify the exact opening and closing dates before planning a swim outside peak summer. Pool access is for hotel guests, and loungers cannot be reserved. This outdoor facility is separate from the spa and does not remain available through the winter ski season.
For winter access, the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle toward the La Massana cable car and the Funicamp at Encamp. It runs only during the ski season, is subject to availability and requires an advance request; the operator says the first trip departs at 08:30. Guests should contact reception to confirm departure times and return arrangements for the day. The hotel also lists ski storage. For drivers, outdoor parking is free for guests and indoor covered parking costs €14 per day. Electric-vehicle charging is available in the covered garage, with the charging rate listed separately; requests should be made in advance. A shuttle is useful but is not a substitute for checking the lift’s own operating calendar or for arranging transport outside the winter service period.
Cyclists have a secure bike-storage area with locks and camera coverage, a washing point, e-bike charging and a repair workshop. The wider service list includes a gym open daily from 07:00 to 23:00. An outdoor padel court is available seasonally, with hours depending on the time of year and winter access subject to weather. Hotel guests may use courts at a reduced charge and subject to availability. The ABBY mini-club offers supervised activities for children aged four to eleven, but its programme and schedule are set by reception and advance registration is required. Babysitting can also be arranged in advance. These facilities make the hotel practical for mixed-activity groups, although the exact programme should be checked for the dates of travel.
Pet rules are specific. The hotel accepts dogs up to 20 kg in eligible rooms, generally with one dog per room and a supplement; they are not allowed in the Suites building. The current operator pages differ on the listed nightly fee, so confirm the charge and restrictions at booking. Dogs are not permitted in the restaurant, gym or spa, while certain outdoor and common areas are allowed under the hotel’s rules. Parking is split between free outdoor and paid covered spaces. Check availability before arrival, particularly during ski periods, and request accessible parking in advance if needed.
Check-in begins at 15:00 and check-out is by 11:00. Reception is open 24 hours, although the hotel asks guests arriving after midnight to notify staff beforehand. The address is in Sispony, above La Massana, so the property offers mountain surroundings rather than a central Andorra la Vella location. It is a useful base for a stay that mixes skiing, spa time, family activities and mountain biking, provided guests plan around reservations, age rules, seasonal pool dates and the shuttle timetable. Before booking, compare the Xalet and Suites buildings, check whether breakfast or spa access is included, and confirm any pet, parking or shuttle requirements directly with the hotel.
